Saturday June 6th 2009 at 1pm, Patton Park in Hamilton Massachusetts. To play in this event you do not need to be a baseball player. This competition has been designed to enable each player to accumulate points whether they can hit a "home run" or not! (While we recommend that only teenagers and adults participate in the HR derby tournament, to keep scoring fair; the festivities are open to all ages). The rules of this competition are very simple! Teams are comprised of 4 players. Each competitor is called up to take his or her swing. A designated pitcher chosen from your own team, will pitch the "perfect pitch" to each individual. Each competitor will be able to take (7) swings out of a maximum of (11) pitches. The playing field is set up with a point system. There are four point sections broken down by distance. If you make contact with the ball, but it does not make it into a section, you will still receive 1 point. At the end of each division the points will be calculated for each team. The team with the most points at the end wins! |
